Plus d'importunes visites,
Si ça sonnait j'irais vite
Aboyer derrière la porte et je dirais poliment:
«Désolé mais vous êtes venu pour rien,
Le patron est sorti et moi je suis le chien.»
Certains jours j'aimerais bien être mon chien:
J'aurais des tas d'avantages sans une ombre de souci,
Et tout compte fait j'accepterais fort bien
De manger dessous la table et de dormir au pied du lit.
Plus d'impôts, plus de contraintes,
De devoirs, d'ennuis, de craintes.
Mais en tant qu'homme il me reste un talent qui lui fait défaut:
Un don qu'il m'envie sans doute,
Ça le ronge et le déroute,
Car des nous deux je suis celui qui peut ouvrir le frigo.
Et je savoure ce geste quand je vois
Que parfois mon chien aimerait être MOI.
