Rekiem

Rekiem formed in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2004, with Jonas Månsson on vocals and guitar, Janne Granseth on bass, and Mattias Bergkvist on drums. Their debut album, 'Traga,' came out in 2006, drawing from black and death metal to shape a heavy, atmospheric sound. Songs like 'Traga' and '104' from that record set a tone of dark, intense themes that would run through their work.

Over the next decade or so, they put out albums like 'Ascendancy' in 2009, 'Downfall' in 2012, 'The Cleansing' in 2015, and 'The Abyss' in 2018. Tracks such as 'A los que gobiernan' and 'Abril 7' continued to explore grim, often nihilistic lyrical territory, which sometimes stirred debate among listeners and critics. Their music built a dedicated following without softening its edges.

Rekiem toured regularly, bringing their live shows to audiences across Europe and beyond. They kept a consistent lineup through most of their releases, focusing on a dense, relentless style that avoided mainstream metal trends. Their catalog, from early cuts like 'Acto reflejo' to later material, stayed true to that initial vision of dark, uncompromising metal.
