Renato Squive

Renato Squive came up in Porto Alegre during the 1980s. He started playing guitar as a teenager and eventually connected with guitarist Ivan Ferreira, which formed the core of his musical work. The song 'Chuvas na Janela' became his most recognizable piece.

His self-titled debut album arrived in 1988, followed by records like 'Eclipse' in 1990, 'O Livro dos Dias' in 1993, and 'Só' in 1996. The writing tended toward introspective themes, and some critics at the time found his approach unconventional.

Squive kept making music through that period with Ferreira. The details beyond the mid-90s are less documented, but those early albums and that particular song have stuck around in Brazilian music circles.
