Reskate formed in Vitória in 1991, with brothers Beto and Fábio Guimarães and friend Pedro Lucas. Their debut album 'Nação do Maracatu' came out in 1996, mixing rock with Brazilian rhythms and reggae. Songs like 'La Musik' and 'La Prensa' from their early work became staples for the band.
They followed that with albums like 'SantaClara' in 1998 and 'Eu Sei, Você Sabe' in 2000. Fábio Guimarães left the band in 2001, but Beto kept it going with Pedro Lucas and drummer Rodrigo Lima. They put out more records, including 'Resgate' in 2002 and 'Cores Vivas' in 2004.
Later albums like 'Acústico' in 2006 and 'Para Quem Tem Coragem' in 2009 showed them working in different formats. They marked their 20th anniversary with 'Resgate 20 Anos' in 2011, and kept recording into the 2010s with 'Lado B' and 'O Que a Vida Quer de Mim'.
