Rey Reyes

Rey Reyes was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1948. He started singing in local bands and joined Orquesta La Solución in the early 1970s, which gave him his first real break. In 1973, he recorded 'Ya No Me Importa Nada,' a ballad about unrequited love that became his signature song and brought him wider recognition.

That song established him as a balladeer, and he went on to release albums through the 1970s and 1980s. He worked with other musicians over time, including Gilberto Santa Rosa and José Feliciano. His personal life was marked by struggles with addiction and legal issues, which sometimes overshadowed his music.

Reyes kept recording into the 1990s, with albums like 'El Rey del Bolero' in 1995. Other artists have covered his songs, particularly 'Ya No Me Importa Nada,' which remains his best-known work.
