Reynaldo e Reynan are a Brazilian sertanejo duo formed by brothers Reynaldo dos Santos Ribeiro and Reynan dos Santos Ribeiro from Sergipe. They started in the early 1980s with their first album "O Canto da Ema," which included the song "De Cidade Em Cidade." That track became one of their most recognizable, touching on the weariness of constant travel.
Through the 1980s and 1990s they put out albums like "Nova Geração," "O Tempo Não Espera," and "Doce Emoção." Other songs such as "Derrama Esse Amor Em Mim" and "Homem Largado" kept them on sertanejo charts. In 2003, Reynaldo was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident and spent weeks in a coma, which paused their work for a time.
There was some noise around plagiarism claims in 2002 concerning "A Dama do Vestido Vermelho," though nothing was ever proven. They eventually returned to recording and performing after Reynaldo recovered.
