Ricardo e Os Bardos

Ricardo Brotero started playing as a troubadour before forming Ricardo e Os Bardos with guitarist Sérgio Pinheiro, bassist Lauro Silva, and drummer Sérgio Magrão in the 1970s. They built a following in northwestern Brazil through steady touring, though they remained somewhat outside the mainstream rock and pop scenes of that decade.

In 1981, their song 'Algum Lugar' connected with listeners across the country and became their breakthrough. The band released several albums in the years that followed, including 'O Último Romântico' in 1982 and 'Um Lugar ao Sol' in 1985. Other songs like 'Beijo Pirata' and 'Kamikase' also became part of their catalog.

Brotero remained the constant member through various lineup changes over time. The group faced some internal tensions and management issues, but kept performing and recording for their audience.
