In 2002, he released "Cheiro de Flor," a song that became a major hit in Brazil. That track, along with others like "Paisagem" and "Posso Ficar," helped define his sound. His 2005 album "Alma" mixed samba with MPB, and by 2008's "Axé de Verão," he was leaning into the rhythms of his home region.
Over time, Nunes has tried different approaches, bringing in electronic touches and other influences. His career hasn't been without some noise, there was a plagiarism claim in 2010 that he denied, but the music, especially those early 2000s songs, is what most listeners remember.
