Rikki formed in 1988 with Mikio Fujioka on vocals and guitar, Katsuyuki Mori on drums, Koichi Fujita on bass, and Tetsuya Morikawa on keyboards. They were a Japanese rock band that found their biggest success with the 1994 single "Suteki da Ne," which became a chart-topping hit in Japan.
After "Suteki da Ne," they released albums like "Rikki" in 1995, "Naked" in 1996, and "Third" in 1997. Their sound worked through pop, rock, and folk elements, and they had other songs like "Only The Light" and "Pure Heart" in their catalog.
The band saw some lineup changes over time, with Morikawa leaving in 1997. They faced some tensions, including a legal dispute with their former record label, but kept making music through it.
