The group's lineup featured Roberto Carlos on vocals and rhythm guitar, Erasto Vasconcelos on lead guitar, Wellington Oliveira on bass, and Joao Barone on drums.
Their music drew from bossa nova and samba, mixed with pop elements. Beyond "Você Chegou," they recorded other tracks like "Shine On" and "One Heart." In the late 1980s, there were some plagiarism claims about "Você Chegou," but these were dismissed without lasting legal impact.
Rio continued to release albums and tour, though they faced lineup changes and financial issues over time. Their work remained part of the Brazilian music landscape without the dramatic arcs sometimes attached to bands from that era.
