Rivers Dick

Rivers Dick formed in Paris in the mid-1990s around vocalist Damien Dickson, guitarist Nicolas Genest, and bassist Guillaume Rossel. They started playing small shows while working out a sound that mixed folk and rock with some electronic touches. Their first album, 'La Vie en Gris,' came out in 2003 and included the song 'Ainsi soit-elle,' which became their best-known track.

Later albums like 'La Danse Macabre' in 2006 and 'L'Ombre et la Lumière' in 2009 explored darker themes and more atmospheric arrangements. They kept writing about personal and sometimes difficult subjects, which occasionally drew criticism. Their 2015 album was called 'L'Échappée Belle.'

Other songs in their catalog include 'Attache-moi,' 'Debout devant ma glace,' and 'Je cherche la ville du rock'n'roll.' Dickson's lyrics and vocals remained central to their work, with Genest's guitar textures and Rossel's bass lines shaping their sound.
