The high-voiced brother behind 'Stayin' Alive' also made his own records in the 1980s.
For the solo mood, try 'Saved By The Bell'. For the voice everyone knows, obviously 'Stayin' Alive'.
Most people know Robin Gibb as one third of the Bee Gees, the voice that carried 'Stayin' Alive' into disco immortality. But his solo work from the mid-80s, like the synth-driven 'Saved By The Bell', shows a different side, more personal, less about the Saturday Night Fever spotlight. It's the sound of a famous voice figuring out what to say on its own.
He and his brothers Barry and Maurice started the Bee Gees as kids in 1958. After the group's massive success, Robin began releasing solo albums in the 1980s, starting with 'Robin's Reign' in 1983 and followed by records like 'Secret Agent' and 'How Old Are You?'. He died in 2012.
