Robin Trower was born in Catford, South London in 1945. He played guitar in Procol Harum from 1967 until 1972, when he left to start his own band. That group included bassist James Dewar and drummer Bill Lordan.
Their first album together came out in 1973. The song 'Bridge Of Sighs' from that record became his best-known track. He kept making albums through the 1970s, like 'For Earth Below' in 1975 and 'In City Dreams' in 1977.
Trower's playing has a blues feel to it, but he stretches out with longer solos. Other songs like 'Daydream' and 'About To Begin' show that side of his work. He's been at it for a long time now.
