Robson Satto

Robson Satto grew up in Bom Retiro, a neighborhood in São Paulo, and started playing music as a teenager in samba circles and street performances. In 1998, he joined the band Los Hermanos after producer Marcelo Camelo heard him. He sang and wrote songs with them until the band stopped in 2007.

After Los Hermanos, Satto made his own music. His first solo album was called 'Parada' in 2009. That record had the song 'Dar Um Perdido,' which people connected with for its plain-spoken look at everyday struggles. His writing often touched on social themes, but he kept it grounded in the kind of stories you might hear in his old neighborhood.

He kept making music after that, but the details are thin. What sticks is that early path from the streets to a band, and then a song like 'Dar Um Perdido' that just felt real to a lot of listeners.
