Roby Facchinetti started playing guitar early on in Bergamo. In 1971, he and Dodi Battaglia formed the band Pooh. Their 1974 single "Din Din Din" became a major hit in Italy, and Facchinetti's voice became closely associated with that song.
He wrote many songs for Pooh and also worked on solo material. Some of his other well-known tracks include "Aiutami" and "Cosa Rimane." His discography spans several decades, touching on pop and rock styles.
In 1975, Pooh faced a plagiarism dispute over the song "Piccola Katy," though the band continued recording afterward. Facchinetti also recorded a Christmas song called "Canzone di Natale" and once collaborated with tenor Luciano Pavarotti on a track titled "Troppo Forte."
