Rock²

Rock² formed in London in 1973 and released their debut single "I Am Rock" that same year. Their early material had a raw, energetic quality that stood out from the polished rock of the era. The band's lineup included Tommy Ramone on lead vocals and guitar, Joey Ramone on bass and backing vocals, Dee Dee Ramone on bass and vocals, and Marky Ramone on drums.

They released their first album in 1976 and followed it with several more throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, including Leave Home, Rocket to Russia, and Road to Ruin. Their songs like "Stairway to Heaven" and "O Nosso Amor" showed a range beyond just straightforward rock, though they maintained a consistent sound across their catalog.

Rock²'s lyrics often dealt with everyday concerns and personal experiences rather than grand themes. Songs like "Cego de Amor" and "A Caminho da Eskola" had a direct, unadorned quality that matched their musical approach. Their live performances were known for being straightforward and energetic rather than theatrical.

By the mid-1990s, they had released over a dozen albums including Mondo Bizarro and ¡Adios Amigos! Their final studio recordings maintained the same basic approach they had established years earlier, with songs like "FLAUDE" and "Flouco" showing their continued focus on concise, guitar-driven material.
