Rockalize formed in Los Angeles in 1992. They're remembered mostly for one song, "Chuckie's Song," a ballad about a young boy with cancer that found an audience beyond typical rock fans. The track appeared on their 1999 album "Chuckie's Song and Other Stories," which was their third and final studio release.
They put out two other albums in the 1990s: a self-titled debut in 1994 and "Second Skin" in 1997. The band had four members, including lead vocalist and guitarist Derek Thompson and drummer Josh Wilkins. They broke up in 2002.
"Chuckie's Song" got used at fundraisers and support groups for families dealing with childhood illness. It's the thing people still mention when the band's name comes up.
