Rockaville formed in São Paulo in 1991, with Paulinho Rosa on vocals, Rodrigo Maia and Marco Britto on guitars, Marcelo Vie on bass, and Carlos Trilha on drums. Their early years were lean, but they put out a debut album called 'Um Lugar ao Sol' in 1995. That record had a song called '27 Anos' that caught on, its straightforward energy connecting with listeners and giving the band a local following.
Their lyrics sometimes got them into trouble. The lineup shifted over time, but they came back in 2004 with 'Prazer em Conhecê-lo'. Other songs people know include 'Bugrada' and 'Ela Faz Assim'.
