Rodo Flores was born Rodolfo Flores Guerrero in Tonalá, Jalisco, Mexico, in 1954. He grew up singing in local choirs and festivals, influenced by mariachi traditions. In the 1980s, he joined the band Los Fugitivos, which gave him his first real break.
His song "Cuando Pienso En Ti" came out in 1985 and became his most recognizable track. He recorded other albums like "Como La Flor" and "Cariño Mío" through the late 1980s and early 1990s, sticking mostly to romantic ballads.
Flores had a car accident that caused serious injuries, but he recovered and kept performing. He worked with artists including Rocío Dúrcal and Vicente Fernández at different points.
