Archive material and source history

Rodrigo Rojas is a Peruvian folk singer-songwriter from Huancayo, an Andean city where his father, a musician, introduced him to traditional instruments like the quena and charango. In the late 1970s, he formed the group Los Jaivas, which blended Andean folk with rock and pop influences and found an audience in Chile and across Latin America.

He began his solo career in the mid-1980s with the album 'De la arena en la mañana,' whose title track became a well-known ballad. Other songs like 'Desatar' and 'Entre Tu Fuego y El Mío' followed. In the 1990s, he faced plagiarism allegations that were later dismissed.

His discography includes albums such as 'Huella' from 1989, 'Inti Raimi' from 1992, and 'Pachamama' from 1995. He has worked with musicians like guitarist Juan Pablo Dominguez and vocalist Isabel Parra.
