Archive material and source history
Roger Magrão is the lead vocalist for the Brazilian rock band Corporation Ltda. The band formed in 1980 in São Paulo with guitarist Paulinho Thomaz, bassist Andreia Vilela, and drummer Cezinha Andrade. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1985, and its title track 'Corporation Ltda' became a hit with its direct critique of corporate culture.
Magrão's lyrics often questioned social norms, which drew some criticism at the time. The band kept recording through the late 80s and 90s, putting out albums like 'Guerra e Paixão' and 'Sábado à Noite'. Other songs in their catalog include 'Enquanto Durou', 'Guria', and 'Margot'.
The lineup changed over time. Thomaz and Vilela left in the late 80s, replaced by guitarist Luiz Linhares and bassist Chico Coimbra. Andrade stayed on drums until around 2000. Magrão has continued with Corporation Ltda, bringing in different musicians to play the songs.
