Roidz formed in Tokyo in 2014 with Ryoji Ikegami on vocals, Sho Watanabe on guitar, Tetsuya Watanabe on bass, and Kentaro Takada on drums. Their sound pulled from punk and metal with some electronic touches.
In 2016, their single "It Sux" got attention online and helped them reach listeners outside Japan. They followed it with albums like "Anthems" in 2017 and "Genesis" in 2019.
In 2018, Ikegami was arrested for marijuana possession, which led to a temporary pause in their live shows. The band later returned with a new drummer, Hiroki Mizuno, and released the album "Revolution" in 2022.
