Rokka formed in 1995 with three high school friends: vocalist and guitarist Kazuya Shiraishi, bassist Hiroyuki Araki, and drummer Yoshihiko Kitahara. They released their debut album 'Sekitouhen' in 2001. Their song 'Ittou Ryouran' became particularly well-known.
In 2004, Shiraishi was arrested for drug possession, an incident that threatened the band's momentum. They continued releasing music, including the albums 'Kakusei' in 2006 and 'Tsubasa' in 2009. Rokka disbanded in 2011.
