Romero e Romerito were a Brazilian father-son duo from Bahia. Romero Silva was born in 1937, and his son Romerito Silva was born in 1958. They worked together as vocalists and guitarists, with Romero's deeper voice and Romerito's higher vocals creating their distinctive sound.
Their breakthrough came in the early 1970s with "A Filha da Amante," a song about a man discovering his lover has a daughter from a previous relationship. The track became their signature piece, connecting with listeners across Brazil. They followed it with other popular songs like "Apaixonado," "Fogo e Amor," and "Homem da Madrugada."
They released albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including self-titled work in 1974, "Duas Gerações" in 1980, and "Canções do Povo" in 1985. Their music drew from Brazilian ballad traditions while incorporating contemporary elements. Romero Silva died in 2005.
