Rosie

Rosie formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1994, with Rosângela Santos on lead vocals alongside her sisters Roziella and Tatiana providing backing vocals. Robson Souza played guitar and Daniel Paz handled bass duties. Their first album came out the following year, titled after what would become their most recognizable song, "É a Mão do Meu Deus."

That track, along with others like "Jeová" and "Jerusalém," became staples in Brazilian gospel circles. Their music leaned on straightforward arrangements built around strong vocal harmonies and clear lyrical themes of faith. They recorded steadily through the 1990s and 2000s, putting out albums like "Espírito Santo" in 1999 and "Nosso Deus é Fiel" in 2002.

In 2010, the band lost their recording rights during a legal dispute with a former manager, though they eventually regained them six years later. Rosângela Santos, the founding lead singer, left the group in 2018. Rosie continued with a new vocalist, Lidiane Duarte.
