RoST is a Japanese band whose name stands for Realtime Operating System. They first appeared in the early 2000s with their song "I.D.E.A.," which connected with younger listeners at the time. The group includes vocalist Yuuya, guitarist Nori, bassist Yu-to, and drummer Ryota.
Their debut album was also called "I.D.E.A.," and it won them the Japan Record Award for New Artist. They later released albums titled "Genesis" and "Requiem." In 2008, the band faced a lawsuit over a sample in one of their songs, which led to a break before they resumed making music.
