A Rio band that turned vocal harmonies and samba touches into decades of hits.
For their sound, try 'Coração Pirata' or 'Noites Traiçoeiras.' That's the harmony-driven pop they built a career on.
They've been a steady presence in Brazilian pop since the early '80s, mixing rock and samba under those tight vocal leads. Songs like 'Coração Pirata' and 'Noites Traiçoeiras' became radio fixtures, and their Christmas tune 'Natal Todo Dia' is now a seasonal standard there. That's a long run built on a specific, polished sound.
They formed in Rio in 1980, signed with EMI-Odeon, and put out their first album the next year. Over thirty albums followed, from the 1981 debut to 2007's 'Luz,' with the band continuing after lead vocalist Rick's death in 2015.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
