Royal Trux

Royal Trux formed in 1987 around the core duo of Neil Hamburger and Jennifer Herrema. They put out nine studio albums between 1988 and 2008, starting with a self-titled record and moving through releases like 'Twin Infinitives' and 'Cats and Dogs' in the early 90s.

Their sound pulled from garage rock and psychedelic influences, often with a raw, experimental edge. Songs like 'Ray O Vac' and 'Accelerator' capture that mix of noise and melody. They developed a cult following, partly because their music and lyrics didn't aim for mainstream acceptance.

The band's lineup included other musicians at different points, like John Petkovic on drums and James McNew on bass. They stopped releasing new music after 2008, but their records from the 90s and early 2000s, including 'Thank You' and 'Veterans of Disorder', still turn up in conversations about that era's alternative rock.
