Rubinho do Vale was born in 1951 in the countryside of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He grew up with the traditional folk music of that region, influenced by artists like Raul Torres and Tião Carreiro.
His debut album came out in 1981. The song 'Filhote do Filhote' became particularly well-known. He also recorded 'Caminho de São José' and 'Sereia'.
Rubinho do Vale worked with musicians including Zezé Di Camargo and Luciano. His band in the 1980s had guitarists Paulinho Neves and Roni.
