RUBY is a Brazilian band that formed with members Rodrigo on vocals and guitar, Daniel on drums, and Guilherme on bass. Their sound pulls from rock, reggae, funk, and Brazilian samba, which came together on their debut album "Axé" and the follow-up "O Samba."
Their track "CHEFE" became an anthem that got plenty of radio play, and other songs like "Condimente" and "Sóbria" show their range. Early on, some critics took issue with lyrics that touched on social and political themes, but the band kept writing what felt right to them.
They built a reputation for energetic live shows, with Rodrigo's vocal delivery and stage energy backed by Daniel's drum grooves and Guilherme's melodic bass work. The music doesn't fit neatly into one genre, which has been part of their appeal from the start.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
