Ruído Mudo

Ruído Mudo formed in Porto Alegre in 2005 with Alexandre Kassin on guitar and vocals, Fernando Catatau on bass, and Adriano Cintra on drums. They released their debut album 'O Silêncio das Sirenes' in 2008, which drew attention for its atmospheric, introspective sound. The band's music often blends post-rock and shoegaze textures, creating expansive soundscapes that feel both raw and carefully constructed.

Their second album 'Antídoto' came out in 2010, followed by 'O Começo do Fim da Eternidade' in 2013 and 'O Futuro de Ontem' in 2017. These records show the band exploring darker, more melancholic territory while incorporating electronic elements. Songs like 'Unicidade' and 'A Troco de Conversa' demonstrate their ability to build emotional weight through layered instrumentation and restrained vocals.

The lineup has expanded over time to include Pedro Pastoriz on guitar and João Lencastre on keyboards alongside the original three members. While some listeners have debated whether their later work moves away from their shoegaze beginnings, the band continues to develop their particular blend of experimental rock. Their 2020 single 'Unicidade' suggests they're still working within that atmospheric, textural space they first established.
