Als wolf geheuert, zum hund dressiert,
Er japsend seinen ritt beglitt.
Die strecken würden immer wirrer,
Ob hitze plage, kälte klirre.
Und der hunger bohrt sich drein,
Doch klebt der treue hund am bein.
Gibt brav dem herrn, was beute ist,
Nimmt dankend, was der herr vergißt.
