Rx Bandits started in 1995 as a ska band called The Vow, formed by high school friends in Southern California. They changed their name and released their debut album 'Resignation' in 2001, which included songs like 'Will You Be Tomorrow.' The album got some critical attention and helped them find an audience in the alternative scene.
In 2006, guitarist Matt Embree left the band, and they continued with new members including vocalist Jay Willer and drummer Mike Bryson. Their 2006 album 'The Senator' didn't connect as strongly with listeners as their earlier work. Later albums like 'Mandala' in 2009 and 'Gemini, Her Majesty' in 2014 showed the band exploring different sounds, moving away from their earlier ska-punk style toward something more experimental.
