S142 formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s with Marcus Vinícius on vocals and guitar, Marcio Buzelin on guitar, Sergio Buss on bass, and Pedro Pelotas on drums. Their debut album 'Não Dá Pra Ser Feliz o Tempo Todo' came out in 2005.
In 2009, the song 'Rotina' became their breakthrough single. They followed it with albums like 'Tempo Perdido' in 2009 and 'Em Movimento' in 2012. Their lyrics often touch on personal and social themes.
They've kept the same lineup since starting out. Their later records include 'Abismo' from 2015 and 'Horizonte' from 2018.
