S5 GIRLS formed in 2012 as a Brazilian pop quintet with Gabi Luthai, Luana Camarah, Thaynara OG, Carol Bresolin, and Julia Rodrigues. Their debut single 'Escolhas' found an audience quickly, and they followed it with 'Deixa Rolar' and their debut album 'S5'.
In 2016, Gabi Luthai left the group, citing health reasons. Around that time, some critics questioned the group's image and lyrics, though S5 GIRLS maintained they were making music for young women.
They kept recording, and in 2018 released 'Decisões,' which became their most recognized song. The group featured Carol Bresolin on lead vocals, Luana Camarah rapping, Julia Rodrigues on co-lead vocals, and Thaynara OG as a dancer and vocalist.
