Sábado e Domingo formed in São Paulo in 1995, with Renato Teixeira on guitar and vocals and Sérgio Saraiva on bass. Their self-titled debut album came out the following year. The band's sound worked with acoustic guitar and subtle percussion, drawing from bossa nova and samba.
Their third album, "Descobrimento," arrived in 2002 and included the song "Carta Sobre a Mesa." That track became a staple on Brazilian radio. Other songs in their catalog include "Chalé de Madeira," "Fuscão Preto," and "Placa de Venda."
Drummer Marcos Suzano played with the band from 1996 to 2001, and Chico Maldonado took over the drums in 2002. They released albums like "Quatro Cantos" in 2005 and "A Casa" in 2010.
