Sabe D+ formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1990s around vocalist Fernanda Abreu, bassist Dadi, guitarist Jorge Mautner, and drummer Kadu Carneiro. Their self-titled debut album arrived in 2001 with the track "Melhor Desencanar," which became something of an anthem for moving on from heartbreak.
They followed with albums like "Nação Zumbi" in 2003 and "São Paulo Confessions" in 2007, working across samba, funk, and electronic textures. Other songs in their catalog include "Vou Já," "Eu Aprendi," "1x0," and "Asas."
Abrau's lyrics sometimes addressed social issues and personal themes directly, which led to occasional friction with broadcasters and censors. The band kept performing and recording through the 2000s.
