Sabor Da Paixão formed in 2008 in Jundiaí, São Paulo, with Fabrício Souza on vocals, Anderson Silva on guitar, João Paulo on bass, and Lucas Luciano on drums. They built a following playing local clubs and festivals. In 2011, their debut single "Descendo e Obedecendo" caught on nationally with its catchy rhythm and Souza's vocal delivery.
Their lyrics sometimes touched on social inequality and political corruption, which drew both support and criticism. The band kept at it, putting out albums like "Sabor Da Paixão" in 2012, "Nação" in 2014, "A Voz do Morro" in 2017, and "Favela Chic" in 2020. They've worked with other Brazilian artists including MC Guimê, Neguinho do Samba, and Racionais MC's.
By 2023, keyboardist Rodrigo Martim had joined the original lineup. They still tour and play live shows.
