Saintseneca

Saintseneca formed in Columbus, Ohio around 2009, with Zac Little and Jon Mueller at the center. Their early work leaned on acoustic arrangements, but they've since folded in electronic textures and fuller instrumentation like string sections. The band's albums show that shift, from the folk-electronica blend of their 2013 debut 'Dark Arc' to the more ambient turns on 'Such Things' in 2015, and later into chamber pop territory on 2018's 'Ponderosa'.

Little's songwriting often carries an introspective weight, heard in tracks like 'Happy Alone' and 'Fed Up With Hunger'. Their 2021 album 'The Cardinal' continued in that vein, balancing delicate melodies with thoughtful, sometimes haunting arrangements. The lineup has included Matt Hamon on bass and Aaron Robinson on drums alongside Little and Mueller.

In 2017, Little dealt with a vocal injury that led to some postponed tours, but the group returned to playing live afterward. They've built a steady following without much fanfare, sticking to their own path rather than chasing trends.
