Salamandra

Salamandra formed in the early 2000s around singer-songwriter Erilaz, with LuKa on keyboards, Daimon on bass, and Valdir on drums. Their first album, Nothing But Dust, came out in 2004 and gave the band its first real foothold. They followed it with The Shadow of the Abyss in 2006 and Aeternus in 2008, building a catalog that leaned into gothic rock and darkwave textures.

Songs like Escolha certa and Silent Memory carried a certain weight, with Erilaz's vocals often sitting in a haunted, introspective space. The band's sound wasn't for everyone, some found it too gloomy, but they kept to their own path without much compromise. They released In the Depths of Silence in 2012 and Echoes of Forgotten Dreams in 2018, maintaining a steady, if under-the-radar, presence.
