Salles

Salles was a Brazilian band that formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1984. They came together with members from different musical backgrounds, though the existing information doesn't specify who exactly was involved at the start. In 1987 they released their debut album, also called "Copacabana." The title track became their big hit, a nostalgic song about the famous Rio beach. That song gave them international recognition, though some critics at the time felt their approach was too commercial for Brazilian music.

They kept recording through the late 80s and 90s, putting out albums like "Salles" in 1989, "Baile de Máscaras" in 1991, and "Made in Brazil" in 1995. The band officially stopped working together in 2003.
