They formed in 2003 with a sound pulling from Pantera and Slayer. Their debut 'Carnivore' arrived in 2007, and they've put out records like 'Slaves to Substance' and 'The Diktat' since. Songs like 'An Era Of Revolution' show their heavy, darkly themed approach.

The original lineup included vocalists Chris Carrion and Zakk Tye. After Tye's death in 2009, Johnny Plague joined, and they released albums through 2019. Their lyrics often drew criticism for dealing with grim subjects.

In 2009, vocalist Zakk Tye died from a heart attack. The band continued with new vocalist Johnny Plague. Their lyrics often dealt with dark subjects that drew some criticism.
