Sam Baker started playing guitar as a child in Massachusetts and later attended Berklee College of Music. His first album, 'Letting Go,' came out in 1999. The follow-up, 'In the Shadow of the Pines' from 2002, included the song 'Go In Peace,' which got some radio play on adult contemporary stations.
Baker's band has included Mark Spencer on guitar, Tim Walsh on bass, and Matt Hubbard on drums. He's put out several albums since, like 'Redemption' in 2009 and 'Bridge of Dreams' in 2014. Other songs in his catalog include 'God's In Control' and 'In My Father's House.'
In 2007, Baker was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, which interrupted his touring schedule. He later apologized for those remarks.
