Archive material and source history
Samba Astral formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1990s, with Beto Cauê on vocals and songwriting alongside Marcos Suzano, Rodrigo Tavares, and Leandro Sapucahy. Their first album came out in 2000, followed by others like 'Na Cadência do Samba' in 2002 and 'Retratos Urbanos' in 2004.
Their song 'Minha Musa' appeared on that 2004 album and became widely known.
They mixed traditional samba with jazz, funk, and Afro-Brazilian elements, which gave their music a particular texture. The band kept recording through the 2000s, putting out 'Samba Astral IV' in 2007.
