Samba Clube is a Brazilian samba collective led by frontman Juninho Thybau. Their debut album was self-titled, and they've released others including "O Samba É Do Povo" and "O Mundo Gira." The band's lineup includes Thybau on vocals, Jorge Cardoso on bass, Rogério Souza on cavaquinho, Gilmar de Almeida on percussion, and Anderson Silva on drums.
In 2009, Thybau and Cardoso were arrested on drug charges. Their song "Para de Brincar" drew criticism from some who found it misogynistic, though the band defended it as reflecting Brazilian social realities. Their music incorporates funk, soul, and electronic elements alongside traditional samba rhythms.
