Archive material and source history
Samba Cristo formed in Salvador da Bahia in the early 2000s, starting with street and bar performances. The group came together around childhood friends Luciano Assis on vocals and Vitor Coqueiros on guitar, later adding Thiago Alves on bass and Ronei Castilho on drums.
Their 2006 debut album "Samba, Rock, Funk, Electronica" brought them wider attention, particularly with the track "Precisando de você." They followed with several more albums including "Axé, Reggae, Soul, Funk" in 2009 and "Só Pra Cantar" in 2015.
Their music mixed samba rhythms with rock, funk, and electronic elements. Another of their songs, "Razão do Meu Viver," appears among their more recognized tracks.
