They began mixing samba rhythms with electronic beats, playing in clubs around Rio de Janeiro. Their first album came out in 2008, with the track 'Acredita e Faz' getting attention. The group includes keyboardist Rodrigo Tavares and guitarist Bruno Navaro alongside Marinho and D2.
They've put out several albums over time, including 'Sambatronic Show' in 2011 and 'Sambatronic Bahia' in 2014. The music sometimes brings in funk or reggae elements while keeping that electronic samba foundation. They've worked with other Brazilian musicians like Carlinhos Brown and Seu Jorge.
Some traditional samba listeners weren't sure about their approach at first, and some electronic music fans questioned it too. But they kept playing their mix of styles, performing at festivals and releasing live recordings like their 2016 Montreux Jazz Festival set.
