Samhain formed in 1983 after Glenn Danzig's previous band, the Misfits, ended. Danzig brought his interest in horror and the occult to the new project, which gave the music a darker tone than typical punk. Their debut album 'Initium' came out in 1984, followed by 'November-Coming-Fire' in 1986 and 'Final Descent' in 1990.
Songs like 'All Murder All Guts All Fun' and 'To Walk The Night' show the band's aggressive, horror-themed approach. The lineup changed over time, with members including Eerie Von on guitar and Steve Zing on drums at various points.
