Samuel Delavy formed in 2010 with Samuel on vocals and guitar, Davi on bass, and Laís on drums. They released their debut album 'Memórias' in 2014, which brought them some national attention in Brazil. Their songs like 'Recordando o Passado' and 'A Infância' tend to look back at the past with a certain wistfulness.
Their music works with traditional Brazilian rhythms in a fairly straightforward way, without much fuss about blending or innovation. The lyrics deal with ordinary themes of memory and affection, as you can hear in 'Grande Amigo' or the long-titled 'Eu Amo Você e Digo Assim, o Melhor de Tudo Pra Ti.'
They've put out a few more albums since then, including 'Saudade' and 'Horizonte,' but they haven't become a major commercial force. The three members all contribute vocals alongside their instruments, which gives their recordings a layered, communal feel.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
