San Alejo formed in Monterrey, Nuevo León in the mid-1990s, with Giuseppe on lead vocals, Marcial on bass, Germán on drums, and Poncho on guitar. Their 1998 debut album included the single "9 Meses," which became an early hit with its straightforward lyrics about a father's experience of pregnancy.
They followed with albums like "Dame Tu Amor" in 2000 and "Corazón Solitario" in 2004, gradually shifting from ballads toward more rhythmic material. Songs like "Barman" and "De Tripas Corazón" show their mix of Mexican rhythms with pop arrangements.
Later releases included "Dejaré" in 2008 and "Renacer" in 2014. Their catalog includes tracks like "Amor Y Locura" and "Amapola," maintaining a consistent presence in regional Mexican pop without dramatic reinvention.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
